Application Process

The application process for the Green Card Lottery involves several steps:

Step 1

Submit an Entry

  • Online Registration: Applicants must submit their entries electronically through the State Department’s official Diversity Visa Program website during the designated registration period.

Selection

  • Random Drawing: Entries are selected randomly by a computer-generated drawing.
  • Notification: Selected applicants will be notified through the DV Lottery Entry Status Check on the official website. Notifications are not sent by mail or email.

Step 3

Submit a Visa Application
